This is the most common form of greeting between two people. The structure changes depending on how many people you are talking to.

Shä̀w íłį. I am fine. Nän kʼeʼ dä̀nnchʼe? How about you?
Shahų, shä̀w íłį. Me too,Iʼm fine.
Now listen to the conversation as a whole.
Shį́chʼa dä̀kwä̀chʼe? How is it outside?
Shį́chʼa sha kä̀njį. It is sunny outside.
Shį́chʼa kʼo kwä̀lį. It is cloudy outside
Shį́chʼa shą níshą. It is raining outside.
Shį́chʼa ńtsʼi nítsʼi. It is windy outside
Nyįzhì dùye? What is your name?
Áyįzhì ______ ùye. My name is _______.
Àghāy. Yes.
Ajù. No.
Aju yìínjì. I don’t know.
Shä̀w! Good!
Kwäshǟw shä̀w! Really good!
Kwä̀nä̀schis. Thank you.
Nanänúchʼį shį̀. See you later.
Jąw nìnje? Where do you live?
Łuʼan Mǟn mbày nìínje. I live in Burwash.
Dakwäkä̀da yū nìínje. I live in Haines Junction.
