The language of Kluane First Nation is Southern Tutchone. Southern Tutchone is an Athapaskan language of the Yukon Territory which can be found in the Southwest Yukon though due to the past lifestyle of constant migration this is only a generalization. The dialect that this website will be focusing on is the Kluane Dialect or “Lhùʼààn Mân Kwánje”, in addition we use the EZ Alphabet method of writing Southern Tutchone. Not all content will be in the Kluane dialect as the dialects are all mutually intelligible. Some words are the same or very similar across dialects as some of the dialects did not have words in their vocabulary and thus borrowed from the other dialects. Thus the Aishihik dialect will also be seen.
